Last week, Apple announced upgrades to the venerable Mac mini. And this upgrade turned a diminutive system into a powerhouse. So much so that I'm getting a ton of email about whether we can use the Mac mini for video editing. The short answer is: Yes. NOTE: Here's a hands-on article on using the Mac mini for video editing with Final Cut Pro. You're going to have a rough time with a Mac Mini because it doesn't have a discrete GPU (nVidia/AMD). It relies on the Intel 4K integrated with the CPU. Given that, you'll get absolutely no help from the hardware MPE in Pr. Everything will be software-only, and fairly slow at that.
Keep in mind, Blizzard didn't update WoW Classic to native Apple Silicon, only retail and I can't speak to that since I don't play it. But if you use a 4k monitor and wanna play WoW Classic, stick to the PC or a more powerful intel mac until an Apple Silicon Mac Pro Mini or iMac comes out. Adobe Premiere editing - sucks on the M1 Mac Mini. The Mac mini ships with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM, which can be user-upgraded to 16, 32, or 64 GB. The good news here is that you can upgrade the RAM at any time, without needing to make a decision at the time of purchase. 8 GB of RAM is fine for HD editing in both Final Cut and Premiere. 4K and above frame sizes benefit from 16 GB of RAM.

Could anyone give me a steer as to which Mac Mini model to buy?
I've got a mid 2012 Mac Mini which struggles with Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
One of my kids intends to follow a film-making route at school, so I guess we need a machine that will cope better with Premiere Pro.
Compared to the mid-range 2012 model, the mid-range 2014 Mini has better a graphics card, but fewer cores and the RAM can't be upgraded by the user.
Can A Mac Mini Run Adobe Premiere
Adobe Premiere Free Mac
I'd normally go for the latest, 2014 Mini, but I read a review that said its lack of cores could be an issue with video editing. Has anyone got experience of video editing on either or both the 2012 and 2014 Mini models?
